If you’re like me, you are here because maybe you, or a family member, or friend has just discovered that they are having ostomy surgery . . . or maybe because you have had your ostomy for a while and want to see what is new.

Who We Are

Changes are happening. Regina & District Ostomy has been working in the community for 50 years. We are now continuing our support and sharing the information we provide to include the whole province. We are now Ostomy Saskatchewan. We are a support group of  Ostomy Canada Society.

Ostomy Saskatchewan is a mutual support group benefiting people who have had or are about to have intestinal or urinary diversion surgery.   We are a part of the Ostomy Canada SocietyOur purpose is:

Meetings

Meetings and gatherings are held at the hall at Community of Christ Church on Arthur and 8th. We meet in September, December, March and June.   There are often special events in the months of October and May.  Updates will be listed in the newsletter and/or on the website. (www.ostomysaskatchewan.ca) There will be a combination of Zoom or face-to-face or a hybrid combination of both. We look forward to meeting you. We Send Kids to Ostomy Canada Youth Camp

A unique and exciting opportunity for young people, between the ages of 9 and 18, with an ostomy or related special needs.

We provide lay visiting service, at the request of the physician, patient or Nurse Specialized in Wound, Ostomy and Continence (NSWOC), either pre-operative or post-operative or both. Our Visitor Coordinator is Ruth Suderman.

Visiting Services

Ostomy Saskatchewan provides a lay visiting service, at the request of the physician, patient or Nurse Specialized in Wound, Ostomy and Continence (NSWOC), either pre-operative or post-operative or both.  The trained visitor is chosen according to the patient’s age, gender, and type of surgery.  A visit may be arranged by calling the Visitor Program Coordinator, Ruth Suderman.  Ruth also works at the Regina Ostomy and Wound Clinic as a Nurse specializing in wound, ostomy and continence care (NSWOC).  Don’t hesitate to contact Ruth at [email protected] or 306-450-4690.
