Greetings and Happy New Year to everyone. Attached is the first newsletter of 2025! It’s going to be a good year.
Some of you have only recently had ostomy surgery, for others it’s been many years, sometimes decades. It’s truly a journey that can be unpredictable and difficult in the first few years. There are physical adjustments and also emotional adjustments. But that journey through recovery, accompanied by family, friends, our nurses and physicians, gets better and gets easier as we learn more and become more comfortable. That being said it doesn’t mean there aren’t days, for all of us, with moments of sadness, frustration and anger, accompanied with tears and yelling at the mirror. Take advantage of the people who are willing to walk that journey with you, who offer to just listen or answer a list of questions. There are people just a phone call away.
We wish you a very healthy, hopeful and peaceful 2025.
Note we’re having a half-day seminar in Regina on Saturday, May 3rd. Stay tuned for more info. We’d love to see you.
