Ostomy & Wound Care

We made a list of services that can help you with ostomy and wound care. Our goal is to give you all the information you need about what’s available in Saskatchewan. We know it’s important for you to get the right care, so we hope this list helps.

The list includes special nurses called NSWOCs. They are experts in wound care, ostomy care, and continence care. They have lots of knowledge and training, and they can give you personalized care and support for your condition.

We hope this list is helpful and we wish you all the best with your healing and recovery.

Visiting Services

Ostomy Saskatchewan provides a lay visiting service, at the request of the physician, patient or Nurse Specialized in Wound, Ostomy and Continence (NSWOC), either pre-operative or post-operative or both.  The trained visitor is chosen according to the patient’s age, gender, and type of surgery.  A visit may be arranged by calling the Visitor Program Coordinator, Ruth Suderman.  Don’t hesitate to contact Ruth at [email protected] or 306-450-4690 to arrange a visit.

Also, anyone who has had their ostomy for more than a year could qualify as a certified visitor. If you are interested or have any questions about this please contact Ruth.
