Greetings everyone. We’re sending this edition out to members and non-members alike. Please get a sense of the scope of what we see as our mandate to reach out to all people who live with an ostomy, and this edition covers a lot of ground.
We have a small, dedicated group of volunteers who contribute to keeping our group going. The activities we set up are interesting, but they need an audience or participants. Come and join us when we have an event if you’re able. Being there is a very effective way of being part of the group. To stay alive and vibrant, we need more people to be part of Ostomy Saskatchewan, even if they sit quietly in the background most of the time. Membership is an inexpensive but effective way of being part of it.
You may not always feel like joining or participating. We get that, too, but the big deal is that the new people need your experience and support in their journey of recovery. Just remember back to those who supported you in the early days. Or, remember how lonely and alone you felt because there wasn’t anyone to talk to, and you had no idea where to go.
So let’s be there for each other. We are 5,500 strong in Saskatchewan. Let’s spread the word that there’s support. We can make a difference.
NOT TOO late to sign up for the half day seminar this Saturday, on May 3rd. Just let me know if you’re able to come.
Enjoy your summer.
